Greetings,
Once again, we meet in print! As per the norm, when I sat down to write to you today, I had no idea what the topic would be. I asked for guidance and then just sat and waited. After a few moments the words “focus on service” and “life purpose” kept coming to mind.
I quickly related these words to the fact that I have spoken to many of you recently who are questioning your life purpose, wondering why you’re here and what you are supposed to be doing with yourself in this life. I will tell you, you all are not alone in this question. Even those of us who know we are on our true life path and living our Divine calling, question this from time to time.
When I went to Spirit about these words I had received, I was guided to draw two Angel Cards for more information. Spirit never ceases to amaze me, as the cards I drew were specifically on the topics of life purpose and service!
The message from the first card was: “The purpose of your life is to serve in a way that brings great joy to yourself and others. Don’t worry about finding your purpose. Instead, focus upon serving a purpose, and then your purpose will serve you.”
This message was then backed up by the following: “We acknowledge you for the progress you’ve made in remembering love in your daily activities. We can clearly see the contribution you’re making to the world through your thoughts, feelings, and actions of love.”
You see, sometimes we get so caught up in trying to find our purpose, that we overlook it and miss many opportunities to live our purpose in the process. Spirit would like for us to begin by simply living a life of service to one another and coming from a place of love.
So how are we to actually do this? Well, first of all… go ahead, ask the questions… “what is my purpose?” or “why am I here?” But do not be stagnant in the question. Ask the question, then move forward… Be honest with yourself and ask one more question, what elicits some amount of passion from you, and then move in that direction. Perhaps you are passionate about animal welfare, environmental issues, caring for the elderly or childhood development… Or perhaps you love to paint, write poetry, create culinary delights or work on machinery.
Follow those passions and interests. Break them down into what you can do now, where you’re at. If you love animals, volunteer to walk dogs at an animal shelter. If you love to bake and also have an interest in eldercare, bake cookies for a nursing home. Likewise, with any other passion or interest, examine and acknowledge it, then act upon it. Living your life purpose requires action.
While volunteering is a great way to be of service to others, living our life purpose is not always meant to be only be an act of volunteerism. Many of us are blessed to have our life purpose also be our paid profession, but volunteering is a wonderful way to begin the journey and will open the door to unknown possibilities.
At the core of every life purpose is the action of being of service to others. So, my dear brothers and sisters, in all that you do, come from a place of love and service to one another and your life purpose will unfold before you!
Namaste
